At Peaks Island Kayak, our mission is to provide our customers with an unforgettable ecotourism experience. We believe that paddling is a way of life, and we are dedicated to helping our customers discover new places, cultures, and traditions. Our goal is to create memories that will last a lifetime.
Day trips
Half Day Trips
Spend 3 hours kayaking on the water amongst the outer islands of Casco Bay. We will meet you on the island and, after a breifing and fitting, we will venture out to explore the open oceans, offshore ledges, lighthouses, pocket beaches. We may stop at Civil Ware era forts and shipwrecks. Wildlife is common and includes harbor seals, porpoises, osprey, loons, herons and more.

Sunset Trips
Finish off your day with a 2 hour tour gliding along and watching the sunset over Portland. Paddling by kayak from Peaks Island, you’ll see the lovely colors of the sky reflected in the water. It’s rare on the east coast to be able see the sunset over the water. Being almost 3 miles east of the mainland has it’s advantages: on Peaks Island we are treated to the “big show” almost every night!
