This year our tours are run by industry veterans and sister company Maine Island Kayak Outfitters who have been running kayak trips off of Peaks Island since 2007. We are the same folks, just changing our name to something more wholesome!
Parking
is usually available in the morning at the Casco Bay Lines parking garage. A cheaper alternative is the Thames St. Lot just north of the ferry terminal which has all day rates. Further parking information can be found here https://www.portlandmaine.gov/296/Parking.
To get to us on Peaks Island
For morning trips we ask that you take the 9:15 ferry from Casco Bay Lines to Peaks Island. Our guides will be waiting for you when you get to the island. Look to your left when exiting for the guide holding a paddle. Using bathrooms at the Portland ferry terminal or on the ferries can speed up how quickly we get on the water.
For Sunset trips please meet at our beach by 5pm and visit bathrooms first (located at the library/community center and down in the parking lot near the ferry terminal). Let us know if you need directions.
To bring with you
We recommend wearing quick drying athletic clothing suitable for the weather and bringing shoes that can get wet. It is likely that your feet and butt will get wet. Sunglasses, hats, sunscreen and water are also highly recommended.
We have secure space to store your personal belongings and an area to change clothing if needed.
Cancellation policy
If we deem the weather or sea state to be unsafe we will offer a full refund or chance to reschedule. If you need to cancel a booking we will provide you with a full refund with one week’s notice (or more). Half refund with up to three days notice. No refund with less than three days notice unless we can fill your spot from a waiting list.
